At ‘Flourish Education’ we offer personalised tutoring and engaging group sessions to ensure students from Key Stage 3 to 5 excel in their English studies. Our vast range of services include one-on-one tuition, group tuition, exam marking, exam coaching and masterclasses. As a long-term GCSE English Literature Examiner, classroom teacher and tutor, I bring a wealth of expertise to guide students towards achieving their academic goals with confidence and passion.

My Experience

I was an English teacher for 11 years in a mainstream secondary classroom. In addition, I have been a private tutor for 10 years, providing personalised 1-1 and engaging group sessions to help students of all ages excel and build confidence in English. Furthermore, I am also a GCSE English Literature Examiner (now Team Leader), with a strong understanding of examiner expectations and mark schemes. I’ve supported a diverse range of students, including those striving for Grade 9s, those with Special Educational Needs and Social Emotional/Mental Health challenges. Over the last year, ‘Flourish Education’ saw me step away from the classroom and my team and I have worked with both home-educated and in-school students, offering new tailored options like masterclasses, GCSE courses, and exam coaching.

Subject expertise

All of our tutors have expertise in the English national curriculum at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. In addition, I have extensive experience as a GCSE English Literature Examiner and in marking alongside Examiner colleagues.

Teaching experience

We have extensive experience supporting students with diverse needs, from securing a grade 4 for college to those striving for top grades. We specialise in helping students with SEN, dyslexia, and SEMH through our bespoke approach.
